Dr. Bonner House Bed and Breakfast 570-805-4140 An intimate and elegant bed and breakfast suite located in Historic Summit Hill. The Switchback Rail Road passed the 100 year old home of Dr. Bonner. Dr. Bonner who practiced medicine for more than 50 years was known and loved by most of the residents of Summit Hill and the surrounding areas. The Gravity Rail Road moved coal from the nearby mines down the mountain to Mauch Chunk (now Jim Thorpe) to canal boats which transported the coal down the Lehigh River Canal to Philadelphia and beyond. On Sundays the railroad was used for passenger travel to Mauch Chunk. This exciting excursion is said to be the origin of modern roller coasters. |

Welcome to the Dr. Bonner House Bed & Breakfast. We love company!! We offer three bedrooms with private baths. You can choose from a pillow top mattress, a Select Comfort or a Tempurpedic Memory Foam. All of our rooms offer a writing desk, an HDTV, Cable and DVD player. We serve you breakfast in the dining room. Breakfast consists of omlets, eggs of your choice, meats, bagels, french toast to die for, fresh brewed coffee, tea and juices.
